European and World gold coins are a promising sector of today’s gold market. We recommend them as a superior alternative to modern bullion coins for bulk gold investors.
Classic gold coins from many nations offer all of the benefits of modern gold bullion coins plus additional benefits like extremely limited supply, constant collector demand, and complete financial privacy. Also, because of their fundamental scarcity, classic gold coins have the potential to gain faster than bullion during a rising gold market. But best of all, they’re downright cheap today, costing almost the same as bullion on a per-ounce basis.
Bullion coins are an excellent way to invest in precious metals. Gold, silver, and platinum are all available in the form of bullion coins, minted here in the U.S., in Canada, South Africa, Austria, Australia, China, and other countries. American Gold Eagles are available in 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/10 ounce sizes. American Silver Eagles are available only in the 1 ounce size. American Platinum Eagles are available in 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce sizes.
American Buffalo gold coins are the first .9999 fine 24-karat gold coins ever struck by the U. S. Mint. (American Eagle gold coins are .9167 fine, alloyed with small amounts of copper and silver.) Bearing a denomination of $50, they are intended as a convenient way to own and invest in pure, 24-karat gold in the form of legal tender coins whose content and purity are guaranteed by the United States Government.
The only silver bullion coin backed by the U.S. government for weight and metal content, American Silver Eagles are the safest, most secure, and most convenient way to invest in silver bullion.
Issued since 1986 as legal tender by the U.S. Mints in Philadelphia and San Francisco, Silver Eagles are only available in the one-ounce weight with a face value of $1.00.
The purest gold coin in the world is the Canadian Maple Leaf gold bullion coins. It is an excellent way to balance your investment portfolio and reduce risk with the security and profitability of gold, the world’s oldest and most trusted asset.
Traded and collected worldwide, Canadian Maple Leaf gold bullion coins offer the gold investor many advantages over other types of gold. They are easy to buy or sell any time. Since their first issue in 1979, Royal Canadian Mint gold bullion coins have been universally praised for their unsurpassed beauty, quality, and purity.
The Perth Mint began producing the Chinese Lunar Animal Gold Coin Series in 1996. These pure gold coins are produced in 1 Kilo, 10 oz, 2 oz, 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz sizes. The obverse features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II while the reverse depicts one of the Chinese Lunar animals. All of our Australian Lunar coins are in mint condition in their original packaging.
The China Mint of The Peoples Republic of China began producing panda gold coins in 1982. The pandas are minted in pure gold and are mostly minted in 1/20, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, and 1 Ounce sizes. Larger pandas have been minted in sizes up to 12 ounces, but not in large quantities and these larger issues are rarely seen. Up until 2002 they changed the obverse designs each year resulting in a very collectible series. In 2002 the China Mint announced that they were going to use the 2001 design on future panda gold coin issues. Fortunately, for those who collect them, the Mint changed their minds and did produce a new panda design in 2003. The reverse depicts the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven and has been modified only slightly over the years. The pandas are not minted in great quantities like some bullion gold coins and their popularity in jewelry has resulted in very few mint condition issues remaining in most of the earlier designs. All of our pandas are in mint condition and are still in their original mint packaging.

It is always a wiser choicer to go for gold coined rather than gold bars or jewelry when the point is to store gold. It is possible at the knock down price of $40 and it is easier to be stored, hiding it in somewhere or locking it in bank.
There are plenty to choose from when embarking on such a prospect. The krugerrand of South Africa, the sovereign of UK and Australia the American eagle the Canadian maple leaf or the Chinese panda. The most easily accessible gold coins are the eagles and the sovereigns and thus it is always advisable to go for them when starting a collection. However it should be noted that there is no convention regarding weights and measures of gold coins. Thus individual value of coins depend on the weight and size of them. The more they are the more valuable they are. Today the metric measure of gold is usually followed all over the world. Previously it was troy ounce or a specific part of an ounce. The purest kind of gold coin is 999 of 1000, which are very rare. Usually they are 917 gold out of 1000. The rest is usually some other metal, which makes it more convenient while minting.
If you are keen to buy gold coins from internet or from any other source always be aware that a lot of forgery occurs in this trade and thus it is always better to be ready with all the relevant information. In an authentic gold coin, the name, make and type will always be mentioned. While buying online you have a right to see the picture of the coin on the net before buying it. The actual cost of the coin will include the price quoted by the seller, his margin and taxes wherever applicable. Remember no one can guarantee a coin to be the best in the world for sale. It mostly depends on personal taste.
One kind of gold coin collecting is gold bullion collecting. It means collecting gold coins from all over the world. These are done by people who are enamored by the beauty of various kinds of gold coins. Silver and other metals like platinum are also available for instance the kukabura, noble or koala. The US alone mints more than a million gold coins annually.
The maximum security for the buyers can be guaranteed only by those companies which deal in bullions this is because the transactions are private and non-reportable. For instance one very trusted gold coin is that bearing the image of Saint Gaudens. These are eagles of $20 pricing which was minted from 1907-33. On the reverse side it has the ling cherished American design of the eagle’s nest. These are mist dependable when it comes to size and weight.
Looking through the history of numismatics one cannot but wonder the origin of coins. We can only guess about this. The most possible guess is it was used at it s inception as a legal tender only for paying civil servants. These were composed of tiny bits of metal. Most possibly they were tremendously hoarded in those early days more so when their circulation increased towards the 6th century B.C.E. It was then that fractional denominations were introduced for popular use while bigger denominations remained for bigger commercial concerns.
